Thread: Hernia op recovery & Adv riding?

    Kind of like hearing the stories about getting the snip - you know people feeling ok then going for a MTB ride the next day - then big black cannonballs sprouting out of their jocks

    Keyhole repair with mesh is the way to go. Go for a short walk the day after the op and see how you feel. Do what you're comfortable doing. If it hurts - STOP!!! Take your painkillers regularly for the firts two to three days, even if you're not particularly sore. It's better to stay ahead of the pain than try to catch up. The advice the nurse gave you is ancient. For a one-sided hernia (I presume) you should be able to lift the bike after three to four weeks.
    Good luck with the op. Remember that you don't have to shave for keyhole ops!
