Would anyone happen to have an installation guide and/or reasonable photos of the L bracket mounting points? Do the rear indicator stems form one of the mounting points?

I have a mate with the same problem, he's having a go at solving it this weekend. Will let you know if he does. Something to do with the width of the seat unit and clearance or something.

The RF900 Ventura L-brackets connect to a sub-frame assembly, which should be part of the Ventura kit. You have to remove the entire rear body to fit the sub-frame, and if I remember correctly it was all quite a tight fit. I've attached a scan of the installation instructions showing the sub-frame bracket and the two bent down-tubes that curve out from under the rear body for the L-brackets to attach to.

If you don't have the subframe (I'm assuming you may have a used pack frame?) I have a spare one you are welcome to have. Otherwise if you just need pics let me know and I'll take some tomorrow, it also pays to swap the rear mounting bolts for allen head bolts as it gives a little more clearance and makes it easier to take on and off.

Many thanks for the replies. Yeah I picked up a second hand rack and L brackets off Trade me. But looking at bike photos of how the L brackets are positioned there is just nothing around to mount to. I guess a sub frame is needed and something that I did not get. I did ask the guy if everything was there and he assured me it was. I don't think he thought of the sub frame being part of the unit.
If you have close up pics that would be great and if you want to sell your sub frame I would love to have it. This item is useless without it.

Luckily I got the subframe and no L brackets or pack frame when I got my RF, even more luckily I kept the subframe thinking it might come in handy for someone! Our PM's should sort everything so it looks like a happy ending for this thread.

I have had the rack on for a week and it's great. Ive been a bit bogged down with a renovation project so I have only just got around to mounting it. Went together very easily thanks to your hints etc.
Just got to learn to mount and dismount a little differently to avoid connecting with it and making a tit of myself.

Well kicking the rack is one thing but I don't think my 14 yr old daughter was too impressed when rigormortis Dad box kicked her when hoping off to buy the lotto ticket. She couldn't move back out of the way
