Compulsory full insurance over here costs me about £160 per year - again how does that compare with NZ?

Please don't just start converting dollars to pounds - relate it to what sort of percentage of take home pay - that's a more realistic comparison.

I'm hoping to be back in NZ later this year, so I'm trying to work out what sort of salary I could live on
Not sure if anyone has actually answered you question, but heres how I looked at it
Your total running costs per year ( uk) were 66+38+160=264

    264/12= 22/4 = 5.5 pound a week

    5.5/450 =1.22% of your weekly

now say you earn the average wage in NZ 55 000???? ( a friend gets 700 take home as a computer jockey )

So 33?% tax 36 850 after tax roughly 767 a week after tax

    321+700insurance+30wof =1051/12/4=$22 a week = 2.87%

nearly 2 and 1/3 times more expensive in NZ

Stand to be corrected on the average take home and wof , and insurance prices

    Crazy Steve.

I'm currently looking at an option in one of the 'stan' countries.

    US$500/day when working.

Plus, US$1000/day every day you're there (or alive...)

Doing what I'm doing now, just out in the sand.

    What recession?

    That's registration, not re-licensing...
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!
