Sickened by H-D group riders' actions on Sunday

For everyone reading this thread, I was the front seat passenger in the Subaru involved in the accident near Greta Valley on Sunday. Firstly I'd like to thank the motorcyclist who stopped to see if we were okay. Although you received a tirade from our driver, I know that she was in shock at that point, and knows categorically that you were not involved. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop. There were three of us in the car, and although we all were able to walk from the crashed vehicle, we have all sustained injuries, for which we are still receiving treatment. We have been told that it may be several months for the injuries to be completely healed. I understand that situations like these always create speculation as to what exactly happened, how it happened and where the accountability rests for the event.

I believe it is both relevant and pivotal, to clarify that our driver, drives thousands of kilometres every year as part of a job in which she has been employed for many years. Her driving experience is considerable. If it had not been for her defensive driving ability, we would all have suffered much more serious injuries. We consider ourselves very lucky to have not been killed in this accident.

Secondly, we all witnessed the event as it unfolded, and our collective memory of the event is identical. We all very clearly saw the motorcyclist at the front of the pack, who is the subject of this discussion.

This is not an issue about "narking" on anyone. It is an opportunity for all those involved to reflect on their actions - or lack of them. I continue to be astounded that neither the motorcyclist who is the subject of this discussion, nor any of that person's fellow - following - motorcyclists bothered to stop to see how we were. They could not have avoided seeing the accident. I know it takes courage to step up to the mark in situations like this, but it is the mark of a person's courage that enables them to be accountable for their actions.

KB being what it is means you probably have to get someone known to the list to vouch for you due to the number of trolls on here.

FWIW don't hold your breath waiting for the rider to come forward. If they didn't stop at the time you have very little chance of finding him/her now. Plus KB only forms a small part of the wider bike community. They may not even have heard of KB.

Whiplash is hardly life threatening.. take some aspirin and htfu

Aspirin and a dose of HTFU! Who would have thought? My old mate Clive would be a bit pissed off to think a little pill and some advice would have helped him after his intersection accident a few years ago. I guess on reflection though that the aspirin and the HTFU advice probably wouldn't have worked for him as the whiplash he suffered broke his neck and killed him instantly...

your mates accident saw his neck snapped, probably because of a red ducati... this scenario saw threee women drive themselves of the road and crick there necks when they went over some ant hills...

not really a fair example now is it...



btw, i got whiplash in the uk and got 1,800 pounds compensation. NEVER did i worry about my neck braking or my eyes balls instantaneously exploding..

My guess is that the fault is with both the biker and the Subaru driver. Kiwi's are shite drivers at the best of times. Sounds like she over reacted and ended up in the ditch.

Despite the "large" membership of KB, I am constantly amazed at how few of the motorcycling fraternity at large have even heard of it!

The important part is, of course, that "I" have and "you" have! Little else matters really!

I second this hypothesis. Driving along in her own little world and was surprised at seeing a bike completing an overtaking manouvre and simply panicked, veering off the road.

Unfortunately for you lot there is video evidence of your group (not taken by us) and it shows number plates clearly.
