Blah I fought the law, and Won!

So I had a run in with some of the parking fa.. ahem.. wardens a few weeks back. Parked my bike under a motorcycle parking sign, which happened to be over some broken yellow lines, I just though some numpty had painted broken yellows instead of the yellow M/C. Came back from te manawa motorcyle exhibit and found a ticket on my bike. Not happy, took a photo showing the sign and went to appeal, dude said he had to wait for the warden to download the pictures, fair enufs i think, showed him my picture and wrote details etc.

Week later i get a letter (they dont do emails) saying it still stands. Emailed to furthur appeal it, no reply, go in and have another chat to cheif warden, he reckoned the motorcycle parking sign didnt cause me to park there cos it could have meant another area or some bs. Finally convinced him to sent it up the ladder, got a letter today saying its been canceled. Fucking stocked as it was a $60 fine.

So sometimes it pays to argue the point if you know you're in the right.

Public servants are mutants, they are not programmed to make decisions.

You just have to keep climbing until you find one who thinks he/she has the "power" to say yes or no!

They will give you a break just to kick shit out of the system, it jiggles their jollies.

Problem is most of the time it would be quicker to climb Mt Everest (what's the Maori name for that?) than to climb the Public service ladder for a "yes" you are correct!

Nice job well done that man!

yeh I was a little flabbergasted at the black and white mentality of the head parking warden, he basically was of the opinion that it didn't matter if it was the councils fault I parked on broken yellow, because I parked there I had to pay. I guess some people would just prefer to live in such a black and white world.

    Now that's ironic
You went to a council event about motorcycles and parked in a motorcycle park, yet got a ticket from the council. (now thats just great advertising for PNCC, maybe the tickets is a way to help make up for the lowered entry price for the show)

Did you ask them what would they have done had you parked on the footpath?

How did they attach the ticket to ya bike?

    Nice to see you won

haha, yeh was pretty sweet deal on the ticket prices.

No though i did ask whether that was the standard parking infringement fee, its not, 40 bucks is standard for parking without a pay and display ticket. I would be interested to see how much a footpath ticket is.

my bike has a strap thing that across the seat so he tucked it under that.

cud well have been, I imagine warden saw the awesome sight of the beast and got a bit jealous, so took petty revenge by giving a ticket.
