Smelly helmet?

I have a primo condition Beemer flip helmet thats about 3 years old that I dug out a few days ago with the intention of using it again, but it has a rank old musty smell to it now.
Part of the liner is removable and washable but there is still the cheek pieces and the rest of the fixed interior material to deal with.

Anybody had this problem??

It's just dampness. Take out the liners and give them a wash.

The mouldy stuff ain't good for you.

I have taken out the removable stuff and have it soaking, i might try drying out the helmet in the airing cupboard for a week then. Cheers

Airing cupboat is good, but all you need to do is loose the moisture, which is best done with a dehumidifier. The airing cupboard can over dry things and you may find the stiching fails.

If you dry it out, but its smelly again after a couple of days, then the problem is bacterial. In which case you need to spray / wash with Dettol or similar
