On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Yeah! Sweet!! The perp probably didn't report it as they were hideously drunk at the time. Great that the witness reported it to the cops. For once, justice will prevail!!

Just went to make a formal statement and the housewatch guy at the police station confirmed there was a witness who took the rego number. Def my car...white skyline on Gossamer drive was hit.

BUT... they wont tell me anything till they investigate because its criminal now due to him not reporting.

After 2 weeks I can request the file and get the rego name and the witness report

THEN maybe Ill either get his insurance to pay or if hes uninsured mine will pay some

THANK fuck for the person who reported!!!!!
My car was parked on the road outside a party. A car hit my car and drove off. The following driver saw it, got the rego and came into the party and found me. Damn good of him I must say. As we were inspecting the damage the neighbour across the road came over and confirmed the rego plate.

I go straight to the Police station and report it. They lift a pain sample there and then.

    No problem right?
    Wrong!
The guy denied it and no one could confirm who was actually driving - none of the witnesses actually saw the driver such that they could identify him.

He got off. I handed the detail I had to my insurers and they sorted out my damage, but the guy walked without a charge.

You may not be out of the woods yet.

    Why didn't they serve
a request for the identity of driver notice? They don't ID the driver, then chase up the registered owner.

Responsibility is a forgotten concept for too many people today.

    Great news

At least there is some hope in sight trump-lady.

I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of e-mailing one of your pics to my boss for basic damage assessment. His estimate was a fraction more than my best guess ($5000), but he reckons about $5300 to repair.

Best of luck nailing this asshole!!!

    hey Tania

its not uncommon, happened to one of the woman i work with and her new car, was at her partners house & person across the road backed into her car, the neighbours spotted it happening & told her

anyhow she got them good & they ended up paying to get it fixed
Have to Karma ... Justice catches up eventually !!

It was insured. No need for me to get stressed.
Sucked, but not really my problem in the end.

Ok, so it might be my "small town values" but wtf, heard it and didnt check for himself and/or the neighbours. I cant fathom people turning a blind eye (or should that be ear???) to something so obviously wrong. Sounds like your neighbour (who heard it) might be as big as arsehole as the perp.
