Speed alone is not necessarily dangerous!

Anyone that defends that manner of riding is on very shaky ground.
My point was that if you remove the people being overtaken and the police from the equation, he arrived at his planned destination safe and well.

Who would have ever known the difference?

How much truth is there in the other factors?

What was the real element of danger compared to the reporters (other drivers and police) perception of danger?

Bearing in mind that their own perception is their reality and they were "outraged" by the rider's actions! (no bias there, no porkies?)

Have you never heard some driver accuse another of behaving dangerously when there was really no danger at all, except in their "own" mind.

Everyone's perception of danger is different, especially when they are accusing another of doing it! (they were outraged remember, no bias, no porkies)

Again, I stress, nothing happened, he arrived at his destination fit and well, as intended so his speed is irrelevant.

The real question is, was he very wise and did he do our (motorcycling) cause any favours? NO, he was a prize prat! (IMHO anyway)

    remove the "good"

Title of the thread should be "cunt",

    he made it there safely,

What if there was a bike on that corner, to put it in terms bikers would understand; cars dont seem to register the situation in this thread.

A bike on bike head on, what a "good cunt" he would be then.

I won't bother wading into the normal debate... but there is no way he can go off police radar at only 200kph. I would imagine they simply couldn't get a fix on him... A good fix will still be able register speeds close to 300...

Is there a point to this... no not really, just pointing out an obvious error...

I agree with Donor and KM on this one.

200 kph on the back straight of puke would be the equivalent of holding up traffic. 200 kph on a public road with demons in his head; moronic.

    Ugh

I do not support this idiot. What a selfish wanker.

Fantastic excuse...emotionally charged day, blah blah blah...

How is it other peoples emotional days, involve potentially or actually killing other families members, causing them to have emotional lives????
(I've heard this excuse a million times, sorry I killed your daughter cause my Mums got Cancer...etc etc)

Today it's excusable because he arrived alive, and no-one innocent was affected?

Yet if he killed himself and others by the same actions, what would the title of this thread be then?

Of 34 Motorcycling fatalities this year, only FOUR were not the Riders fault.

Passing on blind corners? Mint. Just what we need more of.

what I find interesting is that the article mentioned a stupidly small fine, and a 6 month stand-down (aka the period for which you can't get caught riding or you get a little fine to add to the $4 per week payments to the court).

Judge Gerard Lynch said Hickford-Page's driving had been "appalling".
Ok, so his decision making may have been appalling, but clearly his "driving" was quite good cause he made it.

Does it piss anybody else off when the media refer to riding as driving? Or is that just me?

Actually I'm completely with you, I think the dude is an idiot - I'm not sure what kind of person it takes to risk killing himself and others on the day of a family funeral. Hard to portray sarcasim over the internet.
