    My first pulling over

got my first pulling over by a nice cop today, came off M/W and was still doing a fair speed and tryna catch up to the cars, so he clocked me doing 72, asked to see my licence, went inside his car, came back and said i suggest you check your speedo, other than that off you go, i was sacking it the whole time, i hope i dont get sent a ticket but he seemed pretty nice will watch my speedo instead of my revvmeter from now on.

Yerrr...that can be a trap for the unwary - many is the time I have been watching the tach, thinking I was in fifth and not too fast, only to find I am already in sixth when I try to change up...a glance at the speedo usually necessitates a touch of the picks to thwart the ticket merchants...
Trouble is, to look at the speedo, I have to take my eyes down off the road. Tach is higher and therefore easier to see....
There are times when I see the usefulness of a gear indicator...

    No such thing.

Can I suggest you'd be better off watching what's happening in front and around you?
Hint: - if you are 'catching up with the cars' then you are probably speeding
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Were you still on the off ramp, or a bit past it?

I think you got off very lightly. Probably checked and noticed you hadn't had a ticket before, and gave you the benefit of the doubt.

What he said. Yes some cops are reasonable . My first pulling over ever was just after I had upgraded and failed to come to terms with it's far greater acceleration was by just such a cop. I got off with a warning, lesson learnt . Not fun though when your waiting for the verdict though is it?

Most cops are good, I got 3T by a T unit with no WOF and no L plate and I got let off with a warning.

I rarely look at my speedo, just the rev counter.

Cops are great and very understanding.

You just need to share the love of your pride and joy with them.

By seeing how happy you are will make them happy too.

It's a win win situation in a wonderful world!

What are you talking about I hit 240kph all the time.

I also rev out to 16k.

But really, you should be able to tell if you're speeding or not without checking the speedo. If not then I guess feel for speed will come in time.
