Incorrect. Season 1 is the melbourne gang story, something like 95-06. Season 2 is the Mr Asia story, late 70's to mid 80's. Season three is supposed to link the two, including (among other things) how the police force was cleaned up.
....
But after the success of Mr Asia (most likely due to the obvious interests of NZ) they decided to replay season 1 again.

Just to be more confusing, if you're watching Series 2 in Australia, their sub-title is "A tale of two cities" - "The Mr Asia Story" is only used here.

Guys, I have 4 DVDs (copies) with S1 Episodes #1-9 on them of Underbelly.
I got them before it was allowed on telly. Not interested so never watched.
If anyone wants them, I'm happy to toss over the ditch.

I was living in aus when it came out, and them banning it in victoria was the best advertising! most watched tv show ever in aus I believe. bloody streets were empty when it was on tv. s1 was awsome but watched 1 episode of s2 and never watched another 1
