    Buying from dealer/selling on behalf

    Hey,

    Question regarding the CGA:

If a dealer is selling on behalf of a private seller, the invoice you receive will be from the dealer, but the registration will be transfered from the private person to you and have nothing to the dealer.

    Does the CGA still apply?

Secondly, is the Hyosung warranty transferable?

Cheers for all the valulable info, bike ETA 2 and 1/2 weeks.

    Aaron

Be carefull, when selling through a dealer he is your agent, and whatever he says about your bike-be it lies, will come back to you if the buyer finds otherwise

    Found it!

The Consumer Guarantees Act applies to sales of consumer goods where the trader acts as an agent for another trader or for a consumer – this covers sales "on behalf of" or by consignment.

Indeed. Frosty sold my Commodore "on behalf". He was an internediary and helped the purchaser with finance.

    Manufacturer's Warranty should just transfer

Check with him if you want the ins and outs of it.

Not sure if you're a buyer or seller but be careful if you are the seller. A local bike shop went tits up recently and there was a huge stink between the owners of bikes being sold on behalf and the appointed receiver. I think it all got sorted in the end but the bikes were essentially frozen while it got sorted out.
