Thumbs up Tara Hills Station Access - IMPORTANT!

    Hi team,

For those of you that have ever ridden overland from Omarama to St Bathans via Tara Hills Station, if you want to do it again ( or for the first time ) then get in quick as Tara Hills Station comes up for tender in 2 weeks time and who knows what the new owners will be like regarding access etc

Life's short, make the most of opportunities while you can :-)

    Cheers, Stu
My KLR thinks it's a Hyundai - running happily at the red-line hour after hour.....

I think Tara hills is about 1 station north of the Omarama saddle which is the normal route between Omarama and St Bathans. DOC now manages the land around Omarama saddle but you have to go through Twin Peaks station on the Omarama end for a short way. I think this will have no impact on us unless there was another route across that we might loose?

Scared me for a bit cause the DB1k route goes over Omarama saddle!

You can relax, Tara Hills is not relevant to the said saddle!

Sorry guys, as the road goes through Tara Hills, I presumed it was where the saddle was located

    Sorry for the confusion
