    What a great day

Tonight on my way home i got pulled over by a cop for riding in a bus lane. Then some bloke did one of those traffic light-Ill have that space sideways shuffles.
    That was the bad news.
The good news is the cop had a discussion with me about riding in bus lanes on the motorway. We discussed transit new zealand trying to contract out of a law passed by the goverment. He then ASKED me if I wanted a ticket just so I could contest it in court.
I very politely declined and he grinned and walked back to his patrol car.
The bloke in the car that shuffled into my lil bit of road got out of his car and stomped back to me. -he stuck out his hand and said "i'm really sorry dude I diddn't see you' -then he walked back into his car as the lights changed.

Good stuff mate. Did you get the impression that you got off a ticket because you made a good arguement? Or would anyone have gotten off?
This kind of pisses me off (NOT that you got off, I'm glad!), but that you may get off a ticket, where as I may not, since I don't present a good arguement. I think they should sort the ambiguity in certain traffic conditions, and standardise the policing respectively

wow, you've had some luck lately..
Best I got was some snotty nosed kid driving his poppa's merc the other night who changed lanes without looking and without indicating and nearly took me out.. Then when we stopped at the lights, he just looked gormless at me. dick.

Well glad to hear the arguement will stand up. I had wondered what would have happened in similar circumstances.. well dun.

not the ones on the northern motorway that are situated in the emergency stopping lane!!!

Which to me means that the one on the bridge and down the bottom of the south side of it are fair game!!!!

Went buzing by a cop at Esmonde road in the green bus lane there this morning, apart from the speed you are allowed to use that one untill the little sign that say "motorway". New best time in to uni today as well which was interesting since bike is running crap

Fear game may be right sometimes, if some of the bus drivers' attitudes I've noted are widespread

Incidentally, over here, bikes arent allowed in bus lanes - but there is a trial going on for solo motorcycles on part of one London A road....
