    Dirt bike on our registry?

    I'm getting married soon!

The boy I'm marrying used to own sportsbikes and LOVED riding them ALL THE TIME for fun and a hobby and for alone time to clear his head. He was always cleaning and modifying his bikes and he had millions of photos of them.
When we bought our house he sold his last bike and for various reasons planned to buy some dirtbikes. Time goes by and we haven't done that yet... but I'm 100% sure he misses riding. I thought I might add dirtbikes to the wedding registry, broken into affordable chunks, like listing the wheels and the engine and the chassis etc on the registry, then pooling the gift money to buy the actual bike.

What do you think of this idea? I don't know a thing about dirtbikes, like how expensive they are and what type or brand would suit us the best.

The boy is overseas at the moment plus I'm trying not to overload him with wedding details so it would be good to put something together and then get his opinion/tweaks.

Is anyone interested in helping me look into this? If so, flick me a PM!

Dunno about the bike, but maybe alot of the other stuff that really adds up, like body armour, boots, helmet, tools, spare tires, air compressor, bike stand

Good luck for the wedding !!.

What!! Your gonna let your new husband spend your wedding gift money on a dirt bike!!! That he can choose himself after the wedding!

    Shiver me timbers!!!!!

Where do we find girls like you!! He's gonna love you forever!!

I reckon its the best Idea I've ever heard a women ever have!!

Ps Even if he doesn't go for the dirt bike idea he may even want to save it for something you guys want other than a bike. But he will never forget the offer!!

Shit I'm already in love! MARRY ME!!! LOL!!! (NA I'm to old and horrible for a girl like you) LOL!!!

    Good luck!

awesome awesome idea, youll make a damn good wifey

Can get a pretty good second hand bike for around 6k, gear another 1k, stick with the big japa brands, better performance/reliability, and cheap on parts.

Cool idea! Maybe for the people who would prefer to bring a physical gift you could do some kind of registry for gear (It's very easy to spend a lot on this stuff, and there's always something new to buy!) so you can avoid getting a million crystal unicorn statues and crock pots from those 'I don't like giving cash' people.
Was gonna suggest you pop into cycletreads as they've got a ladies night for offroad stuff coming up this month, but you're in CHCH, bummer! Ah well. How cool will it be when you can update that 'what do you ride' bit on your profile eh!!

Get a Honda they last forever

As it is a wedding gift and in keeping with tradition with the thought of buying a gift that will last for as long as you are married: Get a Honda, they last forever!
