Something to bare in mind, is that the wider lens will cope with vibration/shake better than a closer focused lens. The further away the view point, the smaller any movement will seem comparatively.

When attaching it to a small rattly bouncy motorbike, this would be my main consideration.

Hmmmmm Yeah i actualy like the footage of the wide angle better ..... Seeing more out the sides seems to give a better sence of speed too i reckon. Vibration shouldnt matter too much as the tracks are "fairly" smooth compared to the road. 170º for me i reckon. Im sooooo glad i didnt rush and buy a 54º .

thats amazing the ground seemed rough as and the bike was obviously bouncing around all over the show but you kept your head reeeeeally still throughout the whole vid, I could see the peak of your helmet and man it didn't move !!!!

Coming round the outside Probibly get a shot of the flying dreads as i fly past tho Then i can show you the footage lator of how slow you are and how fast i catch up and pass LOL.

The wide angle lens makes everything look real far away when fitted looking forward on a bike. The standard lens is best for that use.

i tried to upload a (slow) run over the rimutakas last night but my computer kept freezing, ill have another go tonight.

after seeing the wide footage i think i would rather that. seems a lot clearer then mine although mine does say its a 5mp camera.

As a photographer i'd suggest the std not the wide.
170 degrees is far to wide to be useful on a bike.

with a 170 degree cam you'll need to be 2 metres from the bike in front to get it a good size

anything more than 10 metres away will be a dust spec

close one eye and stare straight ahead: that's about 45mm

WANKER ! Ahhahahahaha ........ Good call tho , soooooooo glad you did away with them extra cc's man cos now your really gunna have ta ride it like you stole it to catch me mate. I kinda wish you had the 675 then cos the outcome could've been quite different (my opinion). Gotta love it eh

Well now im stumped as to what one to get people. I have a small camcorder i may use as a front camera and get a wide angle lens for the rear of the bike ........ Twice as much footage in at the same time. Such a shame the dont have changeable len's for them.

heres a couple from the wide angle lens version. These are using the cam mounted on my helmet with the kit that comes with the camera.

the kit is top notch

as said earlier, if you're following another bike it looks a lot further away.

I've had zero problems with it and have bashed it about a fair bit.
