I reckon my fuel economy is quite good. I've got a Suzuki GZ250 and a full tank with using the reserve as well gets me 240 Miles (386 Kms). I found out the hard way and ran out of petrol one fine day. I use my bike to commute from Browns Bay to the viaduct everyday, but I also ride like a nana, probably why my fuel consumption is so good.

A mid-size bike will probably get the best economy, by virtue of the fact that you're not thrashing it to within an inch of its life (ala 250) and it's not a gas guzzling fire breathing beast (ala thou). 250 commuters weren't meant to be ridden quite the same way some people ride them.

My FZR400 did a worst of 187kms on a full tank, incl reserve, and gulped around 15 litres to fill. So what's that - 12.47km/l? I solved that problem by refitting the numberplate, improved my fuel economy no end. When I first got the bike it used to do around 18 to 19km/l, but once I got used to it the economy was down to around the 15/16 mark.

The 636 I've only filled a few times, and I'm still riding it carefully being my new toy and all - so it's gettin around mid-15s.

Running around town, my FXR150 averages 36kpl. From my log book, the worst was 34kpl and best 38kpl. For those wondering, she's stock standard.

I regularly get 24+km/l commuting on my SRX600.(300+ km to tank)
    XJR1300 gets 15km/l on trips.(330km to tank)
My old TRX 850 did 22km/l on trips (360km to tank)
I have no idea what my WR450 gets but will do over 100km on a tank of gas then I'm totally buggered and don't want to ride no more.

Giving that most tank's hold 18 litre's of fuel with 3 for resv you just divide your mileage till you hit resv by your liter's Eg 220k by 15 = 14.6666 l per k

Well... I replied to the post at a measly 14.5-15km/L with very conservative commuting and now after getting new carbs installed (thanks Mt Eden cycles) i get a whopping 17.22km/L with thrashing a fair amount rather happy to fill up 7.6L after when I would usually be doing 10.3 at my usual top up distance.

Yesterday's trip to the Trackday. My place - track - BP by the industrial area ($8) about 160km. Oh, that was 2-up and I don't ride like a nana either.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Make that a nice 18.72 (I think the new exhaust box is making it run a little leaner), she aint any hotter than normal so I 'think' its okay.
