Lightbulb Sudden thought - first aid

I was just watching all thoes bike crashes on that thread and thought it would be smart to have some form of basic first aid day or somthing just incase the unthinkable happens because it may happen one day and would be good to possibly learn somthing that may save you or your mates one day,
    Any thoughts??

call up your local St Johns branch and check out the courses. If you can, get one with an "outdoors" slant: I did a two day one a couple years ago covering the exposure/broken bones/trauma type injuries. REally good value.

I now carry a little first aid kit with me, just incase.

Hopefully I won't never have to use it, and hopefully I will remember what to do. Still got the D R A B C card in Mr Wallet too.

    y'all can even book online:

    Definitely worth doing!
Red Cross and St John's both offer good courses.

Wouldn't mind refreshing another course myself. Very handy.

The Red Cross do Comprehensive First Aid courses - 2 days for $175.

See if your employer will pay for it, even better allow you to do it during work hours. Most organisations need a First Aid person

I have to do the CPR and basic first aid refresher course every six months because of my job. Well worth doing.

St Johns run our courses, and they're great. The full two day course is excellent, but pretty intensive.

Just remember that you are still pretty limited in what you can do by yourself, and always carry a charged cell phone.
