No, I do not and doubt if I ever will. Infact my next bike will probably be smaller in capacity. It is alot of fun to ride, but some times the little head takes control and you do things that some times are beyond the realm of my skills.

"No matter what bike you ride. It's all the same wind in your face"
To The max...?
I use the handling to the max on the road at times, staying within leagal or nearly legal speeds. I have not used the tire traction beyond the max....yet.
I have used the brakes to the max when avoiding accidents....
I use the engine to the max on occasions, accelerating, overtaking, and on rare track days.
I do not use my bike's full potentional on the road all the time and no one does and no one should.
Exactly, and all this can be accomplished on either a ER6 or an R1.
If someone wants to own an R1 and rides within his/her limit then good on them, I love it when the squinty nose lookers cant handle that fact.
I guess all of the above goes for a large percentage of riders![]()
Them 'some people' can kiss my ass
I really have no doubt that Morc would smoke my ass in a race-
I know my limits and respect them -
And I dont give a flying fuck how my ass looks while I take a corner, my bike has never yet failed to take a curve under my guidance (close calls yes, fails no)
It is sheer arrogance and vanity to say 'I can have one coz I can ride it fast... and no one else should have one unless they can ride like a pro...' thats just vain bullshit - nothing else to it, self inflamatory BS and self flagulation - and I dont care who it offends
I found myself in the gutter on the Wainui Hill the other day when a cage pushed me sideways....PHYSICALLY, the paint is still on my bar end...
Survived unscathed, thats the skill level I respect, not some self inflated boasting of how good "my" lines look taking corners or where "my" ass was on the seat.... so fuckin what if your faster...its public road.
Rant over

I know my 14's limits and have pushed them often and yes, to the max for road holding and power. Loved every minute of it...... Nuff said.![]()
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

Modern sport bikes are extra ordinary machines.
I reckon there would be very few people who could consistently ride them at their performance edge and fewer who could do it on the road. To ride beyond the bikes limit is easy; any noob can do that!
I like to watch this video of a very capable rider on a stock CBR like mine.

If this is what a stock bike can do then, I can put aside bike performance and concentrate on rider competence!
I have always preferred a lower powered bike I can push harder. My current bike is typical - the R65 is the smallest BMW mono, the exact same bike can be 800 or 1,000cc.Sure it'd be great to have the extra power (2 more hp for the 800,12 more for the 1,000,but it's really about torque) - but I can use more of the 650,the short stroke engine revs higher and free, more throttle can be applied out of corners sooner.I don't care about speed in a straight line...if the bike had a top speed of 120kph I wouldn't care, corners and getting between them is what it's about.

If you liked that one, you should cop of a load of this one where a guy is peddling a big twin fairly hard... when about at the 7:30 mark, a CBR600 goes hauling past him. It's quite impressive to watch.
