Wasn't too bad this morning on the commute in. Maybe we'll get a break in the weather.

Good write-up Martybabe, you're a poet are you not?
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.

Beautiful! Almost had me weeping into my coffee. Bring on those warm spring days!

I was on the road back from Hamilton one day, in drizzly weather. It had been a long day, I was a bit cold and I have to admit some of the fun had gone out of the ride.

Way up ahead I saw a VStrom come out of a side road, 2-up, loads of luggage. So I decided to catch up and keep them company. I lay down on the tank and rode the Volty flat out! By the time I finally caught up with them (several km further on - flat out on a Volty is not particularly fast) I was in the mood, so I stayed tucked in and overtook them, laughing like a lunatic.

I'm sure they had no idea what this silly little underpowered bike was doing, chasing them up the motorway. But it was nice to have their company for the rest of the ride into Auckland.

What's that Officer? was I bad, probably. (I may even have broken the speed limit for a brief moment) Would I do it again? in a heart beat, Did it feel good? you fuggin betcha!
There is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing!

    For that beguiling regaling tale!
Your wordsmithery puts mine to shame old friend, except I'm guessing you've never used the word 'wordsmitherey' eh. Used first by John the butcher in Stratford England, he reportedly said, to William Shakespeare, "what's with all the wordsmithery Bill, I can't 'ardly understand any fookin thing you're saying in them stories what you write"

Patience grasshopper, I predict 8 months of summer coming our way, plenty of time for fun and frolics.

I can't begin to tell you how impressed I am by that little tale, enjoyment and intelligence shout loud from that little ditty. I'm quite humbled actually, let me have a dig round in my bling bag, see if I've got any left. x

    Martybabe, two things.....
    1. Stop being a silly bugger. When you write that well you need to share so people less fortunate can be inspired.
    2. Bowie ANYTHING is a good idea *swoon*

    A thread of greatness indeed

This thread is now dedicated to the great David Bowie

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
