A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

One still needs to have a current 6 license to race on a street circuit too.

Depends on the road status though.

5-7-5 Roads Closed Under the Local Government Act 1974 - No civil licence is required.
5-7-6 Roads Closed Under the Land Transport Act 1998
    20
Road closed under this Act are typically state highways and remain listed as “roads’ as
defined in the Act, iti is for this reason that the following civil licence requirements apply:-
Riders holding a current Class 6 (unrestricted) licence may compete without limitation
Riders holding a current Class 6R (restricted) licence may compete subject to the conditions
of the licence. These being: the event must be held between 5.00am and 10.00pm, the
engine capacity must not exceed 250cc and they must not carry a passenger.
Riders holding a Class 6L (learners) licence are not permitted to compete.
These conditions will be noted on the permit and must be included in the Event
    Supplementary Regulations.

Not only are they exempt from having to use their headlights, they are allowed to text whilst racing.

5-7-9A - headlights are NOT required to be on during road racing as it may interfere with the spectators view

Oh aye, and they also follow the LTSA advice about using the rear brake first.

Still.i hear that some bad boys got fined for using "unnecessary accelleration" on the main straight

I heard a rumour that Choppa had made the 'Most Wanted' list down at the Paeroa plod shop because of that...

Yeah, and Jimmy got careless use of a motor vehicle for lowsiding at the hairpin. Then they impounded the bike under the boy racers act because he did a phat rolling burnout on his way back to the pits.
