Front stand for a Ducati?

I need to take the front wheel off of a Ducati MH900e but I only have a rear race stand (for the single sided swingarm) and I don't have anything handy in the garage that will hold the bike with the front wheel elevated that is properly secure - the bike is going to be there for 2-3 days without the rim so I don't want to worry about it falling over.

Does anyone in Auckland have a suitable front stand that I could borrow just while the rim is off getting repaired? Will supply alcoholic refreshment to make it a fair deal.

It's a hand made $25,000 bike, that's not mine. If it was then it'd already be hanging from the roof.

Err well yes, you wouldn't want to let it fall over then..
Ask the local Ducati dealer for a loan of one? I'm sure they'd let you borrow a stand..

I'll give it a try but I don't like my chances!

Give Motohaus/KTL Bikes a call - they sell/service a lot of Ducs. 815 8384 x 2. AJ's a good cunt, you may get lucky.

I used a proper bike lift last time I had the front up when I was checking the runout on the discs, unfortunately the bottom of the motor isn't flat so it keeps wanting to fall off.

Mate - invite Carver over for the weekend.

Fill the tank on the Ducati. loosen the front wheel nuts.

Get him to pop a wheelie and while it's up drop off the front wheel - you will have as long as it takes him to drain the tank of fuel to get the job done before popping the wheel back in for his landing.

Better figure in a couple cans of Red Bull for Carver as well into the equation.
