    Turbocharger enquiry

Anyone know of a reputable company in NZ that'll take a stock Bike and fit a Turbo to it ?

And, what would the cost be and , any other advice would be nice to hear . Bike is an '09 'Busa . Might attempt it myself but we've just sold the house ( With the workshop) . Bugger, so we're renting for the next year or so.

Just curious at this stage , any advice would be welcome, I'd be looking at retaining the original wheelbase, motor mods only and still rideable, welcome any advice ....

If your serious you can buy bolt on supercharger kits from the uk and get it fitted by a local shop.

You can try ST Hitec. Soichi is good with turbos and he knows a bit about bikes too.

I could easily fit a kit to that and set it up on the dyno for you, but if you wanted someone to develop it all from scratch thats a little different. Not impossible, mind, but lots and lots of hours involved building manifolds from scratch without such things as templates or old manifolds to cut up. Then there is the question of my ill-repute...

What price range are you looking at? This is something I'd consider doing one day.

    Wow, so $20K as a ballpark ??

If so, plan B kicks in , ie leave the Bike as it is.....

It's 20K just for the bike isn't it? Plus around 20K again just for the turbo kit.

Do it yourself. It's not obscenely difficult. What do you want from the bike? Do you want beeeeeg HP or do just want it to whoosh and scream like a turbo'ed bike and go a bit better?

there are lots of bolt on super charger kits available so id go that way.
fitting a turbo wouldnt be all that hard and making a manifold would actually be pretty easy, ive made a few for cars and its not all that hard. i guess you would need something like a power commander and a pretty good fuel pump. This sort of thing always costs about twice what you think it will.

try this LINK and it might give you an idea of cost.

approx $10k to fit up and get running a "bolt on" kit. No engine mods, ie mild rather than wild.
Bolt on means quite a few parts will actually fit and the lathe, mill and welder will only be used for a couple of hours instead of a lot
You can do it a lot "cheaper" if you do it all yourself.
We all need an extra 100hp
    cheers
