    Does this really work?

Stuffing chicken wire in the can to dampen the noise? (to pass a warrant obviously)

Anyone have any experience with this?

    Have heard conflicting reports
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

That muffler would fail a WOF on looks alone.

No self respecting mechanic will fall for it

I used that method on my open-can XR 350 G in the 80's, passed 1 failed 1 even back then.
    Just ride.

Yes it will shut it up, however as Katman said if the WOF chap looks up the end you'll be stuffed.

I suggest you get crafty and actually pop a chicken up there as well. Then you could bribe him/her with a nice roast drumstick. If you are really on-to-it lay some frozen french fries on top of the cylinder head before heading to the WOF centre to add to the meal.

What you need is a tube that restricts the outlet end - search google images for 'db killer' to get an idea how to make one.

That's not what Katman said, he said he loved the look of it. Of course he would be able to custom build a better one for $245

lmfao!! at a whole chicken. Would need to be a rather small bantam

No. It did not stop me getting my first ever ticket, 'Operating a noisy vehicle'. The cop reckoned he could hear me 200 metres away with his window up ... and I was approaching from behind him.

Perhaps I needed more chicken wire? I dunno. After the ticket I went and bought some baffles for it.

Never had a ticket, been around plenty of cops in town & on the open road with no probs, it's only 2 Db over, just need to dampen it slightly for the warrant then remove

So would a stuffed chicken be better than a "empty one"? I'd recommend the sage stuffing mmmmmm.

If a chicken was too big then an egg may fit.....

Just chicken mesh does bugger all if you just stuff it up the hole. If you pull the can apart, and using mesh make a tube, and then, not too tightly, wrap it with glass fibre or such like. Wrap wire around the glass fibre to hold the whole thing together and reassemble.

If your only 2db over that should be enough.

Does it quieten?Yes from what I've heard with a dirty big bore on a car,the mesh managed to muffle(pardon pun)the noise, used larger rabbitt mesh, and rolled into ball about 200mm long, stuck in muffler. On a bike WHY lol,as long as under 100db is fine?
