Sorry if its been posted, but this is an interesting point.
    Speed enforcement guide
It says "When enforcement is taking place in an area where drivers are making the transition from a higher speed to a lower speed area, vehicles should not be targeted within 250 metres from the point where the speed limit changes unless there are exceptional circumstances..."
Wonder if it works the other way.

No it doesn't, as has been pointed out several times throughout the thread.

    No.

It's fair to allow people to slow down entering a slower area.

But why should they be allowed to wind-up when they know they are still in the lower speed area??

Is it about being fair though? The rules are there, having a licence shows you know the rules or at least knew them at the time of sitting your test. You break 'em then it's a fair cop. If I'm playing rugby and get tackled high I expect the rules to be enforced and the ofending player to get his arse felt.

Rules are rules - introduce grey areas and everyone gets confused.

I'd expect the same. But a I wouldn't expect such strict enforcement for something like a slight offside that didn't cause any damage or harm, and didn't affect the outcome of the game.

    True.

But that 'slight offside' on the road can cause carnage like ya wouldn't believe....

Yeah - I used to deal with minor infractions using a piece of 2 x 2 across the back of the fucker's head after the game.
