z1000 it is then !!! honestly now guys the hyo isnt a bad little run around and is great for the work commute, its no real trouble and is fun to ride but i cant believe how much of a difference a few holes in yer pipes can make to the bike...this new pipe ive fitted just seems to have slowed my top end speed and im going to have to get used to it...

agreed. I don't really understand the point of trying to increase the power output of a small (250 cc) displacement bike. You're only going to make minimal gains if any. Unless you plan on riding the 250 for the rest of your life which, I doubt, then its not worth it.
Just wait until you get a bigger bike.

I can get better speeds out of my bike than that! Are you sure the motor isn't on it's way out? I'd be very careful how I rode it if I was you, in case it seized and sent you for a sixxer...

Step-up bike for me will probably be a 400. There's some good options available for not a lot of money. Maybe an FZR400RR or if you like the more upright bike, a Bandit 400.

a 2 stroke 250 would have good acceleration and are quick in the lower gears but, I wouldnt want to ride one on the motorway, they're hopeless
