Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

CRF150R to be honest, seams a waste trail riding them,
They are better suited to an MX track, because of the maintenance side of things, you can get away with using the 2T because of cost.
But I love the sound of an MX four stroke, then again all my vehicles are loud thumpers![]()

Ok! I will add the KDX200 to my list and do a bit more research on it! Thanks guys!!
Oh and slightly off topic, what is the technique to picking up a bike then? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
well heres some things that spring to mind
i see people doing is trying to pick their bike up towards them. eg when its lying on the ground, they are standing at the wheels, reaching over it. this teqnique is best for making you tired, and also works well if you would like to drop your bike again whilst you lose balance.
another failed technique is picking it up from the other (correct) side- pick it up by the bars, you dont have much leverage picking it up from the seat region, and youre likely to snap bits off.
another one is if you're half way up a steep hill and have fallen off, dont try picking the bike up while its facing up the hill, youll probably just have it slide down the hill again. best bet is (if possible) semi lift it and get it so its facing across the hill, top side of the bike facing the top of the hill, then get on it, using you're upper leg for balance (this should be easy cos theres a fucken steep hill on your side) then turn and ride it back down - then start again on the hill. faster than last time
if you do find yourself fallen off on a hill and the bike is lying downways - eg the bike is semi upside down; semi lift it and drag the front wheel so the bike is facing down the hill. then stand it up with the front brake on, and ride it down the hill, again try the hill again, but faster
ill add a bit to picking the bike up,
when picking it up by the bars, use both hands on the lower side of the bars, (closer to the ground) it lets you get your leverage lower, rather than trying to pick it up by both grips,
Awesome advise! Thanks, I'll try to put this into practise the next time I crash off!!
One of the adventure rider posted a vid about their girls and smaller rider picking up there big 690 adventure bikes.
It was to squat down backwards, put the small of your back into the seat, reverse your hands and grab the seat lip or anywhere you can and straighten your legs, then walk backwards till the bike reaches point of balance, turn and you have it. Sounds tricky but was really simple on the U tube vid.
Ah shit found it after typing that here goes
Was going to teach it to my daughter just in case she got stuck anywhere out on her own with the 150f. Haha Might be good for you 450 riders as well![]()
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!
'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '
Haha love the part where he says play dead and some one will stop to help.
you would be amazed how many people wont. often on trails when ive been out with the mrs, ive let her go ahead then there will be plenty of riders between us, she will go down, get pinned under the bike, and nobody will have stopped by the time i get there.
i used to think almost all trailriders were good cunts who would stop to help another rider in need. i was mistaken
there is still a fairly good proportion that do want to stop and help.
oddly i find more people stop to try to offer me help than the mrs.... maybe theyre scared of girls?
Well they do have those NASTY girl germs..........
Even on the old ones if you dont race serious and you wanna just go do the odd club day and smoke everyone on a big old 5hundy it great and if you get beaten you have a handful of excuses
what's the difference between a kdx200 and a kx125? Cos i liked the height and feel of the kx125 but too scared of the powers
"Lean like a cholo, side to side"
"Just get a GN250 and put offroad tyres on it"
My x girlfriend had a cr 85r We only trail ride and play ride. I put a fly wheel weight on it and it made it alot more user friendly, but she still flipeds it all the time on decent hill climbs, so she traded up and got a crf 150r and she loves it, climbs anything now. Its just not as easy to start once they get hot. The 2 stroke only needs gear box changed every 6-8 hrs,and piston and rings every 80 hrs. The 4 stroke needs gearbox oil, motor oil and oil filter changed 6-8 hrs, plus valves adjusted every 20-30 hrs, piston and rings approx 60-80rs for trail riding. Hope this is of some use for you, Good luck ;-)
