As for parts I always go to either Dan at colemans or Tony or Yogi at Red Barons......

AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BLOKES AT RED BARONS......

They always give me a discount off sticker price are always professional yet friendly and know their stuff........

I'll never buy a bike from a shop so I don't care how good their bike sales people are...........

There is a John who was at Mt Eden a year or so ago (he replaced the alternator on my Honda), then he moved to Colemans sometime last year I think. When I had the GSX1200 I got it serviced there a couple of times and I saw him there.
No complaints about Colemans' service, but I'll keep taking my bikes to R****

He even rung them to make sure it was still there for me. So after I had brought the bike at Henderson bikes (when Lance was the owner)... I had no friendly service there, I went back to Mt Eden M/C's... and Mike was really helpful.... talked to me about what I needed to do... and Chris helped me out as well. Did stuff for free for me.... I still pop in there just for a chat and they are so helpful and friendly.
Henderson bikes is now owner by Adam, and they are great as well.

I guess we all cant like the same people in life.....
some we get on with and some we never will.
    That's life.
    Yep,
Adam from Henderson and Mike from Mt Eden, the two toppest Blokes I have ever delt with.
Mike set me up with several great deals, and on one bike he promised to track down a fork top cap, 10 months later he popped it in my hand and said - no charge, unfortunatly I had already written it off...
And Andy seems to be able to get whatever I ask for, cheaper than anyone else, I guess he is less greedy on the markup

It's nice to see that the unnammed R**** is getting the praise he deserves. But they are all awesome downstairs g**** and m*** are top notch blokes who have always looked after me.

Yeah I was just in there picking up my nice 1 week old (for me) zxr250c after some rather unusual carb problems... the 'R' mechanic was very good and helpfull... nice guy along with the rest of the guys... they even stayed later for easter thursday to get my bike out for the weekend when I purchased it.

Gareth and Mike were the main people I dealt with and they did an awesome job.
Truely exceptional service, sometimes they are very busy and you just have to wait but it is worth the work they do!
Big thumbs up to you guys at mt eden cycles and I will be seeing you in the future!

John has just returned from Colemans, so they have 4 mechanics down at Mt Eden cycles now..

Yes TS I've been wondering about this? What's with all the Colemans advertising in your KB profile, are you getting financially rewarded for doing it something? Once upon a time I recall hearing you venting out your frustrations about how Colemans stuffed you around so much with your 150.

Anyway JR, I've only ever dealt with Spectrum, Red Baron, and Cyclespot over the years. I'll keep in mind your recommendation about Mt Eden and post any results here if I decide to put some business their way!

Ps. I would never have publicly admitted to the heated handgrips you wuss.

Almost all of my experiences at Mt edens have been bloody good.
The one exception i won't go into but it was a simple case of miscomunication.

As for the guys there. I have been going there for all my biking life and i don't see a point in changing. Top notch blokes and i was pleased to finally have enough money to buy a bike off them (and they gave me a killer deal)
Ya I got it done on the cheap......

I only paid $60 an hour labour and pretty much full retail on parts FOR A DONE AT HOME OFF THE RECORD JOB that was incomplete - did not do what he said he/she did and took three months to simply put down on a piece of paper what was done, as had been requested from day one. A $1030 bill is a LOT of money for me and I feel I was justified in requesting a simple informal written breakdown.

I don't know why it took about 4 visits, several phone calls, lots of empty promises over 3 months and me getting the work rechecked by someone else(who is another professional mechanic who has got heaps of praise here on KB, so his/her word is respectable) to simply get to the bottom of the issue.....

So if it is still my mistake, I can't see how. If someone can give me a logical reason for the issue. I will gladly reverse my view.

Funny how I got absolutelly no services from the guys at Red Baron... do I have "coleman / mt.eden / amps / motohaus" branded on my forehead or something?

Yeah Matt's alright. He's a good guy and confirmed some of the things that needed re-doing. He's also a friend of a good friend of mine and I've heard nothing but good things about him and most of the Mt Eden staff and the store in general.

It was also my VERY FIRST experience with biking...... so unfortunately left a lasting impression.

And the only reason I chose the guy in the first place is because everyone here spoke so highly of him.

ANYWAY LET THIS BE THE LAST POST ABOUT MY INCIDENT

why all the R**** and C**** and M**** and whatever..??
everyone knows who the heck everyone is on about now, and it doesn't take a genius to figure it out by now. And if you don't know them, then there's a good chance you probably won't get to know them.

I'd be hard pushed to find any biker in Auckland and surrounding places that hasn't stepped foot into their place. They seem mostly genuine blokes to me who often bend over backwards to make sure you stay on 2 wheels (or one, whatever..) and often do a deal or two..

The guys downstairs too work their butts off. Ok, so they might have the odd flaw. Only problem I've really heard of is their dislike of 2smokers, but they'll still work on 'em. Whenever I've gone with a problem, they've been way happy to help, and that was long before I decided to buy a bike from them.

I've bought them beers, and I'm doing it again..

    my rant done.

Bah. I've got nothing to prove.

Tell you what, you can come for a ride down the Desert Road with me at 2am in the middle of May, and we'll see who feels like the Big Man when we get to Waiouru.
