Sure you had one bad experience but if i seem to recall said mechanic is overworked all the time..... and you were trying to do it on the cheap as well.
As for the guys there. I have been going there for all my biking life and i don't see a point in changing. Top notch blokes and i was pleased to finally have enough money to buy a bike off them (and they gave me a killer deal)![]()
Lump lingered last in line for brains,
And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...
Just goes to show how much your personal experience reflects on your perceptions. As for the certain mechanic starting with an 'R', I can only say he has worked extra hard to deliver my GSX-R in the nick of time for 2 KB events. He's bloody awesome in my books.
I've dealt with Mike on and off ever since I got into motorbikes. He's a top bloke also.

Yeah, I'm a Colemans fan as well.Originally Posted by Two Smoker

Well I was in Mt Eden M/C's talking to Mike about buying a bike (almost 5 years ago now) and he knew what I wanted... he looked up the Motorbike book and found the Virago at Henderson Bikes for sale....cos he knew what I was requiring in a bike (due to being short). He even rung them to make sure it was still there for me. So after I had brought the bike at Henderson bikes (when Lance was the owner)... I had no friendly service there, I went back to Mt Eden M/C's... and Mike was really helpful.... talked to me about what I needed to do... and Chris helped me out as well. Did stuff for free for me.... I still pop in there just for a chat and they are so helpful and friendly.
Henderson bikes is now owner by Adam, and they are great as well.
I guess we all cant like the same people in life.....
some we get on with and some we never will.
That's life.
That's my thinking too - the last bike I bought from a shop was in 1972...I buy them private for cheap and do them up myself, why the hell should I pay premium price to a shop? But Mike's attitude is so outstanding,it was like buying a bike in a private sale,it was my decision, there was no pressure,I was allowd to look at the bike,go for a ride, bring it back and park it in the lot with my thinking cap on,all undisturbed by salesmen, which is how I like it.I don't think I'll buy another bike from a shop - but I'll buy another bike from Mike....Originally Posted by justsomeguy

Top blokes indeed.
As for the unnameable R... in the workshop, perhaps you need to think a bit more about why some customers' experiences are radically different from others'.
In my experience, respect, understanding, patience and good humour are almost always reciprocated.
Age is too high a price to pay for maturity

If he's the same guy I've had dealings with (twice), then he's A-OK with me. Worked until about 3 hours after he should have gone home last Christmas Eve to fix the brakes on my scoot, so I could have it to ride over Christmas.Originally Posted by Drunken Monkey
