    edit:

theres a flaw with this idea. the flaw is on starting the vehicle will try to draw too much current thru this cable from the trailer battery. and also for charging, the trailer will draw too much current if the trailer battery is low. i will try to come up with a better idea before anyone attempts this.

Whats wrong with a couple of inline diodes to stop the starter drawing from the trailer battery.

they would have to be massive diodes. How about a relay to isolate it on startup??

what about a ...on/off switch ????? with an inline fuse would that work?? that way i could choose when to charge it. Off when starting car then once going switch it on for twenty minutes or so just to keep battery topped up ??

It'll have to be a massive relay to contact that load, relays don't come cheap. On the other hand bridging rectifiers are dirt cheap and you would only need to use one side.

ok heres where im at ....bridging onesided rectifiers ,massive relays, inline diodes,....... MAKING MY HEAD SPIN ....Ok maybe i just see how long the battery lasts first,.. if i can clean 2 to 4 bikes per event i will be happy and just recharge it between events ...OR heres an idea... if it goes flat i can always just use the car lighter socket... but hey thanks for all the help guys .. you guys are the BEST great trailer pics too ..keep them coming ..anyone got a fancy covered one ??
