    stepping up

okay seeing as you're gonna be filing your design at the patent office next week I thought....very reluctantly mind....I'd better show what I have so I can make a counter claim that yes I did fly before the yanks.!!!

These pix show a covered trailer with mobile waterblaster and tank... and powered off the trailer adapter! ...and fits 3 bikes!!! Beat that!!!

That would have to be a massive rectifier. How many amps does a starter draw? Small ones must be in the order of 100-120A?

This is the trailer I built last year.Total cost $520 on the road from scratch.
Trailer centre in the Hutt have the bits for half the price of repco etc.$200 for leaf spring kit with hubs and hitch and lights kit came from tard me.
Mags were swap for bottle whisky.Apprentice put his Skyline into curb and destroyed the other two.Came with directional low profiles almost new.
Metal came from metal construction in Welly just before xmas so swapped for beer and went through the longer scrap steel. They also let me cut it there as well and use metal brush primer. The centre ramp was one they folded for another guy and he never collected so got that for $80.00
They welded the axel stubs for me.
$25.00 for mag nuts from tard me.
Paint was super cheep rattles at $4 each.Im a cheep bastard.

? shouldn't have to be too much more than what the waterblaster draws. 35amp jobby from jaycar last time I checked 5 minutes ago cost about approx $7.35c

Mine was mounted(mine was, means i sold it few months ago prob to cheep. Now have van) with threaded rod bent into U shape and sleeved with racol shrink sleeving for grip on hollow box section frame.i liked this system because I could move it around to balance load with different bikes.
My spare wheel was one someone left against a fence on the footpath three doors down.It sat there for weeks so I nabbed it.

I used threaded rod to secure mine too. My spare came off an old datsun and I had to bore out the inner diameter so it fit over the grease cap on the prehistoric stubby.

started at 7.30am and rego and plate same day at 4pm .Only the metal primer at that stage and just the centre ramp.
no tool box or fuel container holder which was a big floodlamp mounting bracket (2nd hand that i scored from work during cleanout).

Thinking of fitting a pull out BBQ.....Smart arse son says why stop there... fit a satelite dish and a spa pool as well....lol..lol OK

Thanks I sold it to cheep I think.$900 with new warrent and rego and that included toolbox, gas can and fire extinguisher.
I didnt relise how much people are asking for trailers.
I think I could churn out some for profit but wouldnt get mags so cheep as a $50 bottle whisky and the folded ramp was lucky score.
The trailer centres bits were half what repco wanted for same items.
I would spend coin getting galve dip if I was building another one as stones chip rattle paint quickly.Just kept spare (claret supercheep) in garage for touch ups.

Some good ideas here! I 've been saving all sorts of pics of the net, as I'm gonna build a 5 bike one (three forward and two backwards in between) for this summer I hope!!! Got some good ideas like fold down front wheel brackets etc so see how we go!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '
