that black 250 is an o3 o4 got the single bolt seat
o3 models have stronger hubs and bigger forks than earlyer models

this is a bit older but could be lots of fun

yeah i did look at that and wonder... I wonder what the gear ratios are like i guess it would have a useable 1st for tight stuff? and would it be 5 or 6 speed? Awesome that it comes road regable and with the rims... looks like it could be pretty lardy though and getting a bit long in the tooth

and cheers for the tip on the black one

right. sold my bike. got 5500 so twas a cheap deal for him and a good quick sale on a well used bike for me. have only been to look at one bike which was this one.
    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=238012945
It's his first bike and he really doesn't have a clue what he's on about. he has a deluded idea that it's in good condition when really it is in the standard used condition you'd expect of a bike this old. He says he won't budge from $4000 so i'm gonna flag

My favourite is still this one

lol. Yeah i saw that one xen but thought it looks nasty and well abused. Who wants to go have a geez at the 06 one for me? take a camera and get close up pics of any damage and close up's of tyres/brake pads. And get a good judge of character of the fella who's selling it. ask him what oil/ratio he uses and airfilter oil etc????

    Hey,
What did you end up buying?

I'm gonna look at this next week:
    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=238406640

Has reasonable hours on it but well maintained.
Have sold my bike and want to do more trail stuff.

300 vs 250???? Ktm vs honda cr250 and yam yz250.

that looks wicked. the cr and the yz are motox weapons and not ideal as the ktm is. there's heaps of threads in here about it but my opinion is don't bother with an mx 2 stroke if you want to do cool challenging riding. They'd be fine for trail rides probably but still not ideal... how fit are ya i guess is the question!

I'm looking at 250s cos theyre cheaper and more available in the age bracket i'm looking to spend in but would love a 300 if i found one at the right price. I want something as light as possible too so the elec start doesn't appeal (not that i can afford those ones anyway!) I've put bike buying on hold while my shoulder mends and i sell my house... if i get a good price it might be 300 o'clock!

Ain't the 250 & 300 same chassis?? If you want light you'd have to go to the 200 which is the bigger motor in the 125 frame??
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

    Fit enough.....?? I guess?
Ok, on the lookout for late model ktm 250 or 300 exc 2 strokes. 2007 onwards.
My bike has gone to its new owner tonight and I'm already missing it.
I want more "cool, challenging riding"...

    And I want it now!

No, it's in Thames. I'll go check it out next week.

I'm wanting to go riding now. Withdrawls after only 2 days of not having a bike.

It's been used for enduros and has had the suspension changed and then back to standard. Done over 120hours, looks a bit beat up by the photos.
Still keen to check it out.
