Protective Cover

Looks like ma baby might have to sit outside for a while, can anyone reccomend a good place to purchase a bike cover to keep the weathers off.

The bike is only little, a 2001 Suzuki FXR150

(or would a bbq cover fit? )

any help would be much appreciated.

Rjays do a good "weatherproof" cover. Comes in a range of sizes. Your local friendly bike shop should do one of these for about $50.

one thing to watch for (found this the hard way), look for any places the cover rests on the body work - the wind blowing it around will lightly sand off your paint over a period of time and it'll go dull. That's when I realised what was happening with mine. I've seen peeps who didn't catch it, and it wears down to the plastics.. Just place an old towl in the few spots, or some get clear plastic stickers. Each for their own..

I bought mine years ago in Repco, of all places.

It's properly bike-shaped, with 'ears' for the mirrors, vents to let it breathe, a hook and bungy cord to fasten it underneath the bike, and two different types of material - nylon on the top, and a more heat-resistant material lower down.
It works very well, folds up to about the size of a lunchbox, and was pretty cheap.
I used to use it in Tauranga, when I had the VF500 and we didn't have a proper gargre, and also when I temporarily had two bikes and had to store the VF on the front deck. Last time I used it was when the plasterers took over the gargre and I didn't want their dusty paws on the VTR.

got them at Supercheap Autos as well, was thinking of buying one myself

I used to use a car cover, drape it opver the bike then tuck the remaining parts in under the wheels and use the clippy thing to keep it all together.

Advantage... 1 cover for two vehicles

Disadvantage... not a perfect fit (but fine in howling winds) the bike put chain grease on that part of the cover (not much) but you had to be careful not to spread it everywhere if you used it for anything else.
