2010 Models - When do they arrive?

I've long had my sights on a new Triumph - decided this year was the year as I finally had the cash, etc etc.. No 8 months into the year I've had some pretty major shoulder surgery and Looks like I'll be ready to ride again in a couple months.

At what point in the year do the 2010 models come out? Do the shops drop the price of the 09's before hand? Considerably?

I'm getting excited, especially as its warming up and drying up, and I'm getting really fed up with four wheels!

2010 ? I know, it's just a pot shot... but hey.. you never know!

Completely depends on if the model is being updated or not or just still being released. Each manufacturer is slightly different, but expect a new 2010 model to be out in the last quarter of 2009.

Which model are you after? If there's no update coming out you may as well just buy it now. If there is a new one, then hang on and you may get that discount on the run-out model.

well in saying that the 2009 daytona 675 didn't change thaaaaat much (Or did it?) but the dealers cut the prices quite substantially.

When I was in the market for my Triumph, I contacted all of the dealers by email with the spec I wanted.

I found that the further south you go, the better the price and extras in the deal.

CHCH is cheaper than WELL
WELL is cheaper than AUCK

Triumph dealers do seem to do good deals on the previous models.

There were enough changes to make it a significant update, but not entirely new.

Unless of course it is the new Thunderbird which has been announced Months in advance. Mid October they normally announce the new colour schemes and any updated improvements to the 2010 model bikes.

About a month after the first 2010 bikes come out you can pick up the 2009 demos for a song if you don't mind it being a little second hand.

keep in mind that many shipments of sought after models are pre-sold (esp. Triumphs) So if you want a 2010 model, you may have to order it, especially if you want to choose the colour.
