Well lucky me I hit the magic 100 points today! I was just about to exit pearoa on sh2, about 100 meters from the 100k sign so I started to accelerate and bam, got pinged just in front of the 100k sign for doing 73in a 50. Question is has anybody ever had any success contesting a speeding fine? Is it even worth it or shall I just grab my ankles and accept my suspension.

People who have had a good reason have contested speeding tickets and won. Sadly you don't seem to have a good excuse.

The Police will normally overlook a slightly excessive speed just inside the restricted area if the vehicle is slowing down. As has been mentioned preiously by our resident experts there is no allowance for speeding up prematurely as you leave a restricted area,

Best grab yer ankles. Might pay to start saving for a radar detector?

We all do it, in fact if we didn't you can bet your boots the guy behind would run over you. Tough though.
