How NOT to jump start you bike (for the men)

Well, bike has been acting like a dog (one day after I get it ffs!)

Stalled with clutch in (WTF!?!?) - was on a hill so I let it roll alittle and only slowly (takes ages to electric start!)

So there I was - rolling down the hill slowly in 1st with clutch in - let it go and.....

WACK! My nuts hit the tank.

First painfull lesson I had on a bike.

    You stand corrected....

Your first painful lesson in biking is buying that Hyobag

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

As long as you didn't leave two testicle shaped dents in the fuel tank, it's all good.

My GT250r had a rooted battery for a while, I was able to solo jump start it on the flat(car parks etc). You looked like a retard scooting your big bike along but drop it into 2nd and it would spark up.

Wouldn't that be "Bump" or "Crash" start? "Jump" is to jump from another power source using cables.

Correct. That's bump or run starting. Jump starting is using an alternative power supply to the battery.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

Yeah. My vtwin 650 is basically impossible to start on the flat without a helper. The bars are too low and narrow, and the seat is too small to safely push and then leap on. The GT250R is a bit easier, but the comet is piece of cake.

Do you think maybe petrol tanks should be contoured to take into account the frequent occurrence of nut crushers? With some soft padding....

hehehehe, although I must say it's not completely painless for us either when we slide forcefully into the tank.

So all this and the battery wasn't actually flat?
