Ha, wouldnt be the first time !!
But seriously I think as a society we are losing our drive, our spirit, same in Aussie and the US. We are becoming a subjugated society and its only going to get worse.
It looks like to me Carver has become a focal point for a lot of people's pissed off feelings that they have been bottling up. ACC, taxes, local councils, cant do this, cant do that, all things they feel helpless about, and along comes carver. They can now yell and scream at him without getting into trouble.
He did something a lot of people would like to do but just cant bring themselves to do.
Not the riding over a bridge but he didnt follow the "rules" and wasnt afraid to let the powers that be know.
We all break the rules, but we keep it to ourselves because we are afraid of the consequences of "breaking the rules" even if the rule makes no sense.
We have become subjugated and afraid of our own shadows (it might be a policeman with a speed camera)

Well, I'm not, but I do moderate my behavior when I know there is likely to be a camera pointed at me. You just have to be smarter than the technology - or its range at least - and bask in it while we still can I guess.

A mum who drives her mini van full of screamin' brats across that bridge every day might also say that it's good that the mechanisms are in place to deter this sort of behaviour.

Exactly - our stupidity generally takes place a long way from any civilians.

And, yes my reaction to this stunt is partially based on the fact that my wife and son use that bridge twice daily during the week.

As far as me and Oscar are concerned, we're talking dirt bikes in a paddock on private property and on organised rides to start with. Capital Coast, Kaipara 200 etc.
    Your Coro analogy is flawed.
We have a licence and have passed a competency test before being allowed to do it.
There is also some tacit agreement that you will comply with the rules before they hand over the document.
The procedure to similarly comply for stuntage in a public place has been outlined.

This may not be the way it should be under the SPB justice system (which with a few disclaimers - I might subscribe to), but it is the way it is - and you might as well rail against the moon.

And don't put your name on it on you tube either!

One could also mention wheelies on a VFR1200. It's all stunting.

Nah - wasn't me riding either of 'em. You seen me on a speed triple? You need a shoe horn to get it out of my butt.

But it's not on You Tube. You are missing the point.
Which is how to make entertainment and not get in the shit.
