I could understand it if I was reading the ‘Letters to the Editor’ but hey this is a motorcycling forum!

The retards have to get over their own inadequacies and realise that Carver did something few here could ever achieve. Trials was a part of my riding activities for nigh 20 years and I KNOW just how much skill, but more importantly – nerve, that was required to ride those arches. A shy, shrinking violet just could not do it. Simple as that.

Carver, take no notice of those suffering from the ‘Little Men’s Tall Poppy’ syndrome. They most certainly haven’t got the balls.

And yeah, no way in Hell would I have ever been able ride those bridge arches.

Lets put this into perspective....
In the 1930's -50's there was no internet.
If it wasn't for the internet, Carver's efforts wouldn't be widely known.
Finding photos of the other achievements? they will be around, they'll be in family albums.
Only those who know Carver will know his name...there will be thousands of Kiwis that couldn't name him, just like the pilot and the other two blokes.

None of us would have remembered his name if he had NOT been fined, that is part of being a man and taking whatever gets dished out. The law can't just sit back and do nothing. No doubt in their hearts they are not enjoying dishing out fines for these sort of capers but they have to. Discourages others, especially those who lack the skill and foresight to pull it off. As I said to Carver when I met him, "Well done, good stunt" but a public conviction endorses the stunt more than even the stunt itself.
