I was talking to a biker I met today at the lookout on SH16 on the way to Wellsford. He was riding a mint 1982 Honda CX-500 Turbo and was shocked when I said I only got 15.6km/litre out of my 250. He said he got 20km/litre out of his 500cc, V-twin, shaft driven, turbo charged, considerably older bike (ok, it was admittedly fuel injected, but still).
This got me wondering what mileage (kilometreage?) other people got from their bikes. I dunno if this has been posted before, all I could find was a thread about how far people could get on a tank.
For anyone that hasn't checked this before, all you've gotta do is next time
you gas up, keep the receipt and write down on it the km's you've done since you last filled up. Then just divide the kilometres by how many litres you put in the tank. Provided you filled the tank up the same amount each time, this will be a reasonably accurate measure of how many km per litre your bike does.
