    Arrow Go for it Jim!

I'm after the 2005 CBR600RR, if I could get one at that price, I'd be out there riding now! If the Yammy is your thing then go for it

I know a guy who bought one of those very recently. Very nice.
I think he paid ~$17k, including a couple of helmets and some other gear.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

R6/GSXR/CBR/ZX6 - Doesn't matter - all the modern 600s are weeeekid. Regret will not happen. Get it. Get it now. Get it now now now (but tell the wife first, just arriving home on it without telling her first would be regretful)

    Cool

look you want it, BUT buy it with the wife's permission of course....

and be prepared to either be man handleded every night of the week..... for the next few months.... and you had better be up to it as well...... lol
OR be in the dog box for a few weeks... for not being up to it....lol.

Gee not a lot of choices there mate....lol.

Best you get her full hearted permission.

The other thing can you afford the bike?

Tell you what worked well for me last time:
"I'm 32 years old and I've never had a nice bike" Worked a bloody charm, she even admitted that was what did it- nearly broke her heart
Ha! I gave herindoors a very similar line: ...I don't want to be sitting outside the old folks home in my wheel chair, see a {insert make/model} go past and say "I coulda owned one of those"....

    Didn't work.
    She laughed.
    A lot...

OK...This is what I would do.

Tell her all about it and how you've wanted an R6 for ages, promise her that if you get it you won't be out riding all the time but would insist on spending weekends etc with her. It's coming into the shitty weather season so you probably wouldn't be out riding as much as she's used to anyway. Come summer, you've got a nice R6 and she would have forgotten about the promises you made

The other option is embodied in the following phrase "Forgiveness is easier than permission".

Thanks for the (thoroughly expected) majority vote on the support folks. I theeeeenk that a few of the strategies worked and the discussion is in favour of the (I'm giggling and giddy - you'll have to imagine this bit) purchase.

I'll let you know how my discussions with a certain salesperson at Sawyers go. (teeheheheheheheheheheheheheheee)

Of course I might just take Lou's path, and combine it with Slingshot's wisdom. (Teeeheeeheeeheeeeee)

My latest bike only cost me a dog. Well, more accurately, it cost me the agreement for her to purchase a dog. Something I wasn't entirely against to start with. Kinda a win-win thing.

But I'm a bit concerned that you'll now be kicking my ass in traffic all the time if you go for the R6...
