RIP Phil (Pinky) SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND.
$16K? They must be joking!! When you can get a new XT660R for about $11K, what really neccessary bits are you paying extra for?
The first jap manufacturer to take the adv market seriously and still they've stuffed it up. While the 660 is close there are still so many opportunities for weight saving and functionality. She's still very fat in the arse and once panniers are added she'll be fatter still. There's a good case for a centrally mounted muffler that will keep the rear end narrow and allow the luggage options to tuck in more. Would be nice to see Yamaha try to get this motorcycle down to 150kgs or less and the power is still too soft IMO. Imagine if Suzuki got serious about the DL650 and made a more dirt oriented version like the Terra Mostro but better still?
Andy.
serious design FAIL
Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder. I quite like the looks mostly.
