90/90 21" road tyre wanted asap

Anyone got a roady type tyre in the above size available to get rid of/sell?

Got a bike being ridden from AKL to nelson on sat and it's got a TKC80 on the front at the moment and that's just a waste of a tyre for the trip.

    Anakee/Tourance/scorpion/anything

Will be on an F650GS Dakar.

    Fair price paid.

I have a 90/90 21 Scorpion that came as a spare on the 990 so it's probably a couple of years old and about half worn. Free to a good home Matt, PM if it suits, I'm in Hillsborough.

Ahhh just managed to track down a new 501 battlewing for $179 fitted.

    Cheers anyway people!

Sheesh most places are out of stock of everything. Distributors dont have any tourances (or exps), or anakee's, or scorpions.

Devil's advocate here: it'll cost you more to swap tyres than the extra rubber you'll burn. It's not like the TKC80 front is a short-lived knobbly or summat.

Don't know what you pay but It costs me nothing to change my tyres myself and only takes 15 minutes at most to do a front and that's stopping for coffee too.

But when it's already on cheap and the fitting is included...

Just happens to be a convenient solution.

Me too, but I wouldn't bother unless I was saving at least the price of a few decent beers. As in, at least as many beers as I'd drink while changing the tyre.

TKC80 front cost me $11.27 to run for 1000km. If the new tyre cost you nothing to run, you'll save all of $11.27 but have paid for fitting and be out of pocket a new tyre (fitting is included in the price - it ain't free). More like the new tyre will cost maybe $10.00 / 1000km to run if it's more economical, saving all of $1.27 over the trip to Nelson. You'd do two tyre changes to save $1.27?? Okay, projected savings'll be $2.54 if you ride the bike back again. If the tyre is slightly sportier compound you could burn more $$$ off it than the TKC80, on top of your changing time & effort and/or money.

    Just sayin'.

TKC80 rears melt, fronts last forever in comparison. I'd understand if you wuz changing the rear, the last one for me cost $53 / 1000km - my most expensive tyre so far.
    Cheers,
    Colin

Except it's pretty much a road only tyre which the owner doesn't currently have, so when we get around to doing our south island lap it'll be very handy as we'll only be doing a little dry gravel! Save the TKC for when it's needed.

True; AKL to NSN then lap of the mainland is quite a bit different to AKL-NSN.
    Cheers,
