that's what make's it a good road bike, not much cop on the track though
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Apart from that - they don't come at corners slow. It's a 103hp engine with good torque capable of 220+kph and it spools up nicely.

If it's not far between the corners even better because of the speed they can carry through them.

Where they are slow compared to a litre sportsbike is exiting the corners.

The Flea, down our way, seems to get his XB-12r spooled up well. Dosn't seem to give sod all up to litre bikes, even out of the corners.

But just say given equally skilled riders, at the end of the day it's 103hp V 160/180hp

    yep, Flea don't fuck around.
i have had good days on my buell riding with late model jap sports bikes, think it is fair to say that i have represented myself reasonably, but i cannot keep up with Flea and i don't think the people in this thread saying buells are slow would be able to keep up with him.

I've ridden an the XB r and s, only the thou mind, and they ARE slow.

You are all right, who say they punch out of a turn well. They do not however, accelerate quickly past the initial 20 or 30 km/h burst. A fast bike will accelerate quickly as long as you dare keep hooking cogs.

Having not achieved the same speed as a faster bike, you get more time to judge what's going on ahead. Using that time wisely you get to carry more corner speed a lot of times, and from there a higher average speed, and can then beat the guy who just twists the throttle on his litre bike.

I agree BD, im not the greatest rider, but I can flow through the corners as good as all but real fast guys and gals who are (good riders) not crazy or stupid.
Like you say its only when the roads open out, do they start to open up a gap which I never make up.

I'm sure it's great, but not what the thread is about.

I'm amused by those who have taken what I said as a dig. My initial post was a good natured joke, but not untrue. My second was an attempt to clarify the thinking behind it.

At no point have a said the Buel is a bad bike, or that there was something wrong with them.

they may not have high hp but they are better than an RF900 and way cooler than a gixxer.

don't dis buells in this thread, this thread is about there good points.

we owners know they are not the fastest, but to say they are slow is wrong
