I was just starting my ride up north at about 1:30, had just turned onto Coatesville-Riverhead Hwy from SH17 and on a short straight saw an RSV coming straight at me in my lane trying to overtake 5 or so cars. There was also another bike in front of the RSV that I didn't recognise (didn't have time to register, saw bikes coming at me and moved the hell left! Haha)... both of them were fully in my lane...

It was a great day for riding yesterday though!

Haha, well the first guy didn't, or at least I didn't see him wave (he was probably too busy trying to get back into his lane!) but the guy on the RSV did. I love the look of the RSV4 and the RSV1000R.

I was one of the guys on the RSV4.

I was riding on my own on the way up to Welsford, then Mungawhai Heads. Stopped at the lookout on HW16 and had a chat to a couple of blokes there.

Caught up with the other RSV4 and RSV, GSXR & KTM RC8 in Welsford and had lunch there. We had a "Rather Brisk" ride back along HW16.

The RSV4 certainly has no problem keeping with a GSXR1000. And the RSV4 was stock and not run in, while the GSXR was 20,000km so well bedded in, had a pipe, Velocity stacks and retard eliminator, and the rider was 24kg lighter than I am. (Cos Im a little more portly that desired)

The RSV4 is an unbelievable bike to ride. It truly is. And I have done many many km on the latest GSXR1000s, CBR1000RRs etc. The RSV4 is better! No question.

Just got internet back (Woosh hates rain/storms).
Hahn:Were you in the group of guys that arrived as me (on the RSV) and the RC8 were waiting on the opposite side of the road?

Was a great day for riding and had some fantastic company (for a bit anyway LOL).

I can hear the pitter-patter of Katana Man now

    Pleasantly bacon-free, indeed!

With the lack of crashes or accidents on that road, the police presence is completely un-neccessary!

Yes that would be bloody good.

But truth be told, if I lived on HW16 and had bikers passing my home at over 250kph with loud pipes and hitting the redline then Im sure I would be getting a bit annoyed. Hence they probably feel the need to request the police to spend some quality time there

Not hat I would ever do that cos Im an angel
