    So who's up next?

If you follow the various threads you'll know that old Zimmer is booked for the 15th November, for the Puke AMCC by two trackie aspirants.

You'll also know that three of the four original contenders stumped up for the day, last Sunday.

I suspect they were (except Christian who was just totally focused on the action) still a little bit beguiled by the idea that they had no liability for damage to my bike.

And that's the way it will stay.

And so, who else would like to use old Zimmer for a track-day?

She's a good old banger. Hell's teeth, Christian got her up to 210 in the pissing wet on the Puke back-straight! Sitting up like Jackie. That was about the only instruction (get down on the tank) which he ignored. I guess he must have felt better sitting up.

I have to formally confess I've never had her over 205 in the pissing dry off that straight. Mind you, the brakes were fairly munted till I fitted new rotors, pads, and got the suspension seen to. But even so, I still can't get my head around that part of the track.

I did get to 230 at Taupo before I ran out of track, and only then saved the day by running off into the Drag-car bit.

I suspect Frosty thought he'd gotten rid of a mild problem to a wide-eyed incompetent (me) when I bought Zimmer from him. But as matters have turned out, I think I have had the better end of the deal. Old Zimmer just keeps on keeping on, despite my depredations...falling off.

I think I've gone down about ten times in the last 12 months. Taupo, Manfield, Puke. And two of those were Sinful's fault, bounder he is!

Any modern bike would have been written off after the first couple. Any modern bike would have been written off after the very first meeting with Manfield's pebble kitty-litter.

    But not old Zimmer.

Nar. After 1995 they stopped making solid bikes. Luckily, Zimmer was made in 1995. Solid, reliable and destined to be owned and ridden by a skilless dick like me. And then, on 30th August 30th, 2009, by a kid destined for greatness. I bet old Zimmer knew who she had on her back and performed suitably.:--))

Dpex, I applaud you for allowing the younger generation use ol' Zimmer out on the track day. I was able to have a brief chat to Christian at one stage, sounded like fun.

I think if i stuck my hand up for it, i would not want to go back to a 250. Riding the ol' Ninja round the track just wouldnt be the same again. So as the offer is there i'll say "Yes please!"
