    If I was to buy...

an old 90something 2T cheapie, what would I be up for ball park to rebuild the engine (assuming just piston, ringsetc.) What about an old XR or similar that's a bit tired?

last year I did a CB250RS almost the same as XL/XR motor of mid 80's parts was about $420 for piston, rings, timing chain, tensioner, and rebore

this year Im doing a PE175 2 stroke full rebuild so far on the motor I have spent $380 on piston and rings and rebore $160 on bearings and oil seals and about another $600 on other engine parts

the CB was just the top end the PE is a full engine Rebuild

is that including gaskets also you have to remember a lot of these places that are supplying cheap parts is all good but they can only do it for the newer models as there suppliers dont make for the older bikes. One of my part suppliers big co could even get certain bits for a 2000 cr the other week not made anymore was the answer i got back
