    Thanks for the tips.
The group ride was certainly a new experience for me.
Not counting the snail pace protest ride the other weekend, the largest would have been 7 of us at the Waimak or Banks Peninsula during the 90's, all on trail bikes, which is hardly the same thing.

During the ride I found myself looking in the rear vision mirror a helluva lot more than usual. Which is both good and bad.
Also ended up riding home in the dark which hadn't been done in a long, long time and found quite enjoyable.

    Another 135km on the clock.

Anyway, a good experience and would do it again sometime.
But not too often, as my young lad stayed up until I got home. The dear wee thing...

Sorry, I've forgotten your name, (I'm hopeless with names), but thanks for making me feel welcome and checking up on me at the second stop
    All was good.

However it is always nice to give someone who is travelling faster than you the chance to pass if there is space.
You never know, the big sports bike behind you could be a road whale like mine and very hesitant on some of the "lumpy" sections - but they should still leave you some "personal space" too. Always helps to have a sensitive front brake switch, I've found - you can lightly cover the brake, enough for the lights to come on, to try to telegraph some risk to the following traffic (including cages) and **maybe** get some space back.

The ultimate option is always just to pull over and let them get on with their crash as they see fit, and without you as collateral damage... and even on a "sports bike" I've taken that option many times, it's just not worth the risk.

Ride well, hopefully see you all next week.

PS - Anyone doing the trip down to the Burt Monroe Classic?

I know how you feel about the group riding, having only been riding for 4 weeks! (Done lots of pillion riding over the winter, so got used to riding in a group) These guys are great! I have no hesitaton in riding with them. They are always very helpful if you get stuck.

Hope to see you again next week!!

If I can get out of work I will tag along.

Whats actually wrong with Mcwild the red? He seemed like a decient lad when his RG broke down and I took him and his bike into town.

I did hear he is studying law but he hasen't done the paper on mitigating moral responsibility yet.
