One day I might just surprise you (and myself).

As for Weds we could always do what we were supposed to do last week (the whole of Summit Rd to a pub in Sumner) or anyone got a better idea? I might not make it as I'm short one indicator at the moment.

Better to do it that way with your back to the sun. Speight Ale house in Ferry Rd for a refreshment?

Always weary on that summit road especially with the boy ricers having to pour diesel down to get some wheel spin.....

think it as 'good' pratice, nothing wrong with the sumit road it is good training... but it is NOT a fast ride, tight, narrow, debri yes, all good to get used to.
beter knowing its there and how to deal with it rather than being cought out on a good road.
    cheers DD

When we get organised and over your way for the Wednesday night run (its a bit tight by the time we finish work and kit up) I would like to do the Summit run as my down hill cornering sux.....Is there shingle on the road??

maybe Kiwipheonix and I can get up there on our Kawi's and practice...
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message.

Hi guys - the summit road is all good!
I rode it on Sunday, pretty much like your planning for your ride, done a round trip from Gebbies, round the bays and back over the summit roads back to Gebbies. The road was pristine all the way!
Was up there last night (Tuesday) showing some out-of-towners the view of ChCh and the only change is the Sumner lookout corner, where some dick in a car decided to smear big stones and gravel all over the corner when he was taking off. So the mess will be on your side of the road heading to Evans Pass intersection.
Have a good ride, its a nice ride up there.

that is a cool looking bike BR... The summit rd often has a little shingle left from winter or whats been draged out from the side of the rd, nothing bad and defnitly something everone should be able to manage.
Try a weekend ride up there, sort it with a few of the other unsure riders and Im always happy to help those that ask.
    cheers DD

Not very well this week. Picked up a stomach bug and it has laid me very low.

    CU next week.

Well, doubt you'll see much of me for the rest of the season, got some big rides coming and need to buckle down and do the overtime at work including Wednesday evenings if I stand a chance of being able to afford to attend them.
So enjoy your rides and I will be thinking of you lot out there while I'm not... but the bigger events will be worth it in the end.

Thanks re the bike... fits me perfectly...lol...

I will do that ride one day...I just hate the sharp downhill corners, I feel I slow down too much and nurse the bke around them, ... love those uphill corners though.. ... My problem after getting back in the saddle after a 20 year break is my confidence in me and my bikes abilities...I intend on signing up for a track day tutoring course in April,....but for now will climb a few hills to practice practice practice.

What happened to this girl who used to ride up and down 3 kings in Waiouru on trail bikes without fear????
Had kids, turned 40 something and lost me mojo...lol.... FFS it's time I got it back....
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message.
