i think bobbers are very cool, want to build/mod one myself. must say i prefer the wide low beach bars and sprung saddle seat.
I will call re the hell deal..... and yes the picts are yank..but hey! my bike has no front guard and the usa side mounted plate and 110db pipes AND AND a currrent WOF so no biggie. I just put on the guard when its WOF time. Rolling Thunder have a new 09 with wide beach bars and a sexy pair of pipes...but I want the black motor ( 09 has the silver motor )

I heard on the grape-vine that there's a LOT of unsold '09 inventory in NZ causing a delay in the shipping of 2010 bikes (think HD Australia aren't keen to bring in the new models whilst there are so many unsold '09s). If you're going to go for an '09 I'd sure as hell want an amazing deal.
Street Bob's a good looking bike but that Springer front end is just right for it. Don't forget to budget for decent pipes, o2 sensor eliminators, new inlet stuff and a new map / fueling module. That's a lot of cash on top of the bike itself.
For the record, I once changed the front end on my '03 FXST for a new FL front end but only once I'd discovered that the Springer forks I really wanted were more than three times the price! From memory, and I'm not bullshitting here, the FL (Fatboy / Heritage) one cost me about $1,800 whilst the Springer forks were quoted at close to $6,000.
I spied that one today, looking at the bar width I presumed they were aftermarket. Probably too wide for me!
As a side note I read somewhere in the WOF regs in NZ that motorcycle bars must be under 1 meter wide. I wonder if anyone ever actually measures.
Time for a big block is it?

I did my learners/restricted on the Nighty....def time to move up to big block. I hear ya re 09 backlog..I guess thats why they tart it up to entice the peeps, bit like that Cross Bones ( which looks way better in my opinion )
Oh what to do...older 1450 with bits...or new 2010. Is the 6 speed a biggie? I'm thinkin 20 -25k at this stage. Leaning towards the Fat Bob, although I like the night train..

Harley-Davidson never hold back the release of the new models. If a dealer has stock of '09's when the 2010's get here...that's their problem. Or...a buyers good luck!
The 6 speed box is the best thing that's ever happened to big block HD's in my opinion. Everytime I was riding one...I was forever trying to hook another gear on the open road on the old 5 speed. BUT...the 1450 struggled to pull 6th gear. The long stroke 1584 has that much more torque...that 6th is another usable gear.
I've got all sorts of 1584cc 6 speed models avail...and yes...if they're '09's they've gotta go...best anyone that wants a hell deal on a new HD gets hold of me.
