    Red face Cyclespot fail

Went to see all the action this Saturday down at Cyclespot's flash new store. 'Twas busy as, but found a spot to squeeze in next to a busa on the opposite side of the road. I parked pretty close, but had just enough room to attach my halmet to the under set hooky things. As I was doing it I heard the infamous metal scraping sound of the side stand scraping the ground as the bike rolled back - panic - grabbed the bars and saved the day . But wait theres more...

Started it up, to move it higher up and away form the curve, then went inside to see all the bight and gay Hondas. What a cool store.

After doing the rounds at Holeshot, I went back to my bike - the busa guy was getting on, phew Thumper was still upright and hadn't scratch the busa. Had a nice short chat to busa guy - great blokes those busa guys and let him head off before mounting my steed.

With lots of bikers around, I wanted to try be as calm and smooth as possible showing my years of experience, but mostly not making a dick of myself. Started it up, and waited patiently for the stream of cars to stop, took a while, but eventual a kind fella in a ute stopped and gave me a gap. I nodded, let out the clutch and reved to about 6k in natural lifted my hand in apology slapped it into gear and pulled of carefully down the road, thinking my better slink off quietly.

After going through the set of lights I felt confident again and gave it a little towards the lovely left hand on ramp to the norph shor but what was this, something was poking me in the butt - then I realized my pillon seat was not put back properly and was flapping in the breeze - FAIL!

Stopped, thanked God it did get blown off and destroyed or lost and headed up to the Honey Cafe to think it over.

Mocha certainly lifted my spirits, and riding back down the old road through Orewa helped clear the head a bit - even though it was a tad chilly

    Man, I know this feeling.

My favourite stuff up is hitting the horn outside the pub...

Get all dressed up in front of the smokers, "helmet then gloves, helmet then gloves, helmet then gloves", mount the bike "dont' forget the stand, don't forget the stand, don't forget the stand", start her up: "HONK!!"

    Curses!

Please help keep me in leather and on tarmac - it's good for my ego

    I didn't know the draw was on. My 10 year old son spotted it so I entered not too long before the draw. It stated on the written stuff that if you entered you had to be there or it was re-drawn. I reckon there were just as many tickets pulled with no one in the room as there were winners. I won the Speedshow ticket but missed out on being drawn for;

    - Honda Shirt (1 drawn)
    - Motorcycle Jacket (2 drawn)
    - Motorcycle Trader Annual sub (about 6-8 of them drawn)
    - Speedshow ticket (1 drawn)
    - Any 3 things from the Draggin website (1 drawn)
(I can't remember if there was anything else - I was happy to have won a prize but had my heart set on the MotoGP trip for 2)

All tickets were returned for the big draw.

    - Trip for 2 to MotoGP Philip Island, including attending the riders dinner where you can ask them anything you want. Use of the Honda hospitality box and stand. Accommodation and return tickets. What a prize.

They also had Pedrosa's leathers from last year on display. That guy is freakishly small. I'd swear they belong to a 10-12 year old boy.

Well done Cyclespot and what an impressive shop. Outside of the prizes above there was spin the wheel for Honda key rings, shirts and drink bottles. Plus free bacon and egg sandwiches. (They were damned good too)

BD I can't believe you bailed on the wheelie.
