Duly traded. The banana bike is actually a very cool ride, much better than its specs would suggest, and I'm a bit sorry to see it go, given its history, but boy is it nice to buy new or what?

It's a bit personal and involves Govt. dept. and bank screw ups, coupled with the Privacy act. Suffice to say that the equity in our house now belongs to the correct people: My lovely wife and me.

This is also my 40th Brithday present, 8 months early. It really was too good a deal to miss out on, and Sawyers (Brendan in particular) have been bloody fantastic to deal with. Good thing my weekend is filled up with kid stuff, and MotoGP on Sunday night to keep me exhausted on Monday to alleviate excited vehicle purchaser syndome.

I'd wanted to get a newer, bigger bike before my 40th too, but it didn't happen. Still, as it turned out, it didn't matter.

He took a wodge of (presumably) hard-earned cash and bought a bike with it. More the result of his own labours than any good fortune.

I have just returned from Motorad/Sawyers. The ST was in for its 18,000km service.

I have seen said R6. It has a "Sold" sticker on it. It looks lovely. And new. It has greasy finger marks on it. They're not mine. It looks very new. And lovely. The workshop has the keys in readiness for the things that workshops do to new bikes before their adoring owners uplift them. Did I mention that it looks very new? And lovely?
